People are the success behind any venture and Forrester Pharma has recruited a strong management team that have well-established relationships with the Governmental and Regulatory Authorities, Private Funders and Healthcare Professionals in South Africa.

These relationships have been borne from the team’s extensive industry experience which have also resulted in significant intellectual property relating to consumer and customer partnerships.

The team is led by Jerome Smith, the founder of one of the first South African generic pharmaceutical companies, which he led to become one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in South Africa.

Jerome is a lifelong pharmaceutical man and founder of Medpro Pharmaceutica in 1993, which later became known as Cipla Medpro. One of the first South African generic pharmaceutical companies was formed through strategically aligning his company with Cipla India.

During his tenure he led Cipla Medpro to becoming South Africa’s third largest pharmaceutical company by value. Through organic growth the company expanded from 2 employees and a humble beginning in 1993 to an organization of 720 employees in 18 years.

Jerome’s vision was instrumental in introducing South Africa to Indian Pharmaceutical expertise.

Jerome left Cipla Medpro in September 2012 and pursued a new venture – Forrester Pharma which is an independent and privately owned start-up company.
